1 year Birthday!

I've had my makeup blog for a little over a year now, and I'm very proud of it. I think I've grown a lot in the past year, and seeing all the things I've been privileged to do since last November really makes me happy. Got published in Power for the first time in Febuary, and have had 3 Covers and a few more snippets since then. Got to spend some time in L.A and meet and work with some great people. Was lucky enough to get work published in GEEK Magazine, Avenue Edmonton, People en Espanol, Prestige Magazine, Disfunkshion Magazine, and 20/20 Magazine. I worked with a great Men's designer named Todd Shelton, and got to do some awesome photoshoots showcasing his clothing line "Shelton Clothing". I got to work with my boyfriend on a shoot and have our work published in Coastal Carolina Home & Lifestyles Magazine.

And coinciding with my blog's birthday is my own birthday this Thursday the 12th)! :)

Anthony Bourdain & I'm #1! (so far...)

the anthony bourdain shoot on tuesday went great. we shot it at les halles on park ave. the food looked yummy. i'm really looking forward to seeing the pictures, and it will be featured in an upcoming issue of power soon. he seemed super down to earth, and i'm a HUGE fan of his show "No Reservations".

had a great shoot with john burnett for power yesterday. he was attacked by pirates while sailing alone and luckily he survived, and was inspired to write a book based on his experience called "Dangerous Waters - modern piracy and terror on the high seas". i'll let you all know what issue it will be featured in. you can buy the book here.

i'll also have some work coming up on mtv in august, in a true life episode. i won't be IN the episode, but you'll see 3 really awesome girls all made up by me. and my name in the credits! :) i'll let you know when that airs also!

i found out from my agent today that i'll be doing grooming on Anthony Bourdain (from No Reservations on the travel channel) for Power the magazine in 2 weeks. i am so excited! i'm such a big fan of his. bleacher & everard will be shooting it, and it's always fun working with them. :)

l.a is awesome, i would love to move out here. shot with montez de durango for people en espanol, and that turned out great. then yesterday, katie and dean (the photographers) and i drove up to san francisco and shot with craig newmark (the creator of craigslist) and the ceo, jim buckmaster for power the magazine.

The march '09 issue of POWER the magazine (www.powerthemagazine.com) is out, if you can't pick up a copy, go read it online! it features a cover story on Meredith Whitney, who i did the hair and makeup for.

SNL

today i got to work on the set of Saturday Night Live, and did grooming on Lorne Michaels, the creator! It was for the cover of Power (www.powerthemagazine.com). it was amazing being on set and working in the hair and makeup room. i would love to work for the show in the future.

and in other big news, i am now officially signed with Unali Artists (www.unaliartists.com) as my agency! hooray!

mario batali

i’m doing grooming on mario batali for POWER the magazine on thursday. being an avid watcher of the food network (especially iron chef), i’m extremely excited.
